Summary
Many teachers face the issue of getting all students to participate in classroom discussion because there are many students who are uncomfortable with speaking in front of everyone else. This problem can be solved by using online message boards. In the study, students in a 10th grade AP English class were assigned a number and when they posted online, they were only identified by their number. The results showed that the students who ranked in low in-class participation levels contributed valuable discussion online.
